New Beginnings in İskenderun 🚀
I am proud to be part of a highly valuable initiative that will further expand ICARBON’s impact and strengthen its role in industrial innovation and sustainability.
As part of the Filter Export Consortium (UR-GE) Project, I had the opportunity to participate in the project evaluation and vision workshop held under the coordination of Prof. Dr. Onur Balcı. Listening to the progress achieved so far, exploring ongoing sustainability and digitalization initiatives, reviewing innovative project ideas, and most importantly, becoming part of this ecosystem was truly inspiring.
İskenderun is a strategically important industrial region that accounts for approximately 75–80% of Türkiye’s filter manufacturing capacity. Filters are critical components for numerous industries, particularly the automotive sector, making this cluster an important driver of industrial competitiveness, export growth, and technological development.
While there are many details worth sharing, I would especially like to recognize the commitment and enthusiasm demonstrated by all participating companies. I sincerely congratulate the expert consultants who have been carrying out the field studies and supporting the project’s transformation journey 👏
I would also like to express my appreciation to the İskenderun Chamber of Commerce and Industry for their valuable support, vision, and hospitality throughout the program 🙏
My sincere thanks go to Prof. Dr. Onur Balcı and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gökhan Ceyhan for providing me with this opportunity and allowing me to contribute to such an important initiative.
Finally, I would like to thank the İska Kauçuk family for their exceptional hospitality and warm welcome. It was a pleasure and an honor to get to know them better 🤗
A personal note:
Over the past few months, I have had the opportunity to participate in important meetings and strategic discussions across many regions of Anatolia. As a startup founder and as part of ICARBON CHEMICAL R&D AND ENGINEERING, I continue to analyze how understanding Türkiye’s industrial dynamics—especially those emerging from Anatolia—is essential for building successful international growth strategies.
Because if we do not have our own story, ecosystem, and value proposition at home, it becomes difficult to create a meaningful story for global markets.
The future of sustainable industry, circular economy solutions, advanced recycling technologies, and industrial digitalization will be built through strong regional ecosystems and collaborative innovation.
